The most common cause of a fire alarm beeping when there is no smoke or fire is low batteries. For a minimum of seven days, an alarm will chirp every 30 to 60 seconds. Disconnect the device and replace the batteries when you hear the "low battery" announcement. On newer units, you can also put the unit into low battery hush mode for up to 12 hours by clicking the test/hush button.
